Where has that carefree, happy, energetic, SVELTE girl gone?

In what feels like 3 seconds, you are now middle-aged, running between work and family commitments, tired ALL. THE. TIME, and you can only use that tiny bikini as an eye patch in your kid’s Pirate Halloween costume.

WTF happened?

You have tried every fad diet under the sun.  You have joined gyms, hired personal trainers and that spare tyre around the belly has become a permanent fixture. 

You are busy all of the time without hardly a second to spare.  Between a busy job, taking your kids to after school activities and cleaning the house, there is no time left to grocery shop, let alone put up a semi-nutritious meal on the table.  So, you order take-out for the third time this week and collapse on the sofa with a fish-bowl sized glass of wine and binge-watch Netflix.

What happened to that girl in the picture?


That’s where I was five years ago.

I was eating anything that was convenient.  I was working a busy corporate job where there were constant cakes and sweets in the staff room. At home, I would cook food that was quick, or get take out.  I would pour a glass of wine as soon as I got home from work.  One glass turned into a bottle all too quickly, most nights a week.

 I was tired ALL the time, my belly was bloated, my digestion was horribly slow.  Worst of all, I felt like my memory was failing.  It was as if I had dementia.

It became a habit.  One that I felt I couldn’t get out of.  I knew what the problem was, but I had no energy to make a change.   

Then one day I had ENOUGH.


I decided to bite the bullet and stop the inflammation in its tracks.  I found a program that I loved and teamed up with a group of like-minded people to help keep me on track.

And guess what happened?

Unsurprisingly, I lost the bloat, my energy elevated, I had amazing mental clarity (I felt smarter!), and yep, I lost 15 pounds!   I discovered what foods weren’t serving me… (dairy and okay then, I’ll admit it, wine) and I discovered new foods that I love.   I explored my relationship with food and wine. 

Through the program,  I learned how to prep food for the week and make it an easy task to have healthy, nutritious foods on hand.  I committed to multiple AFD’s (Alcohol Free Days)…. In a ROW). 

I soaked up all the information that I could.

These days life is all about moderation, I follow an 80/20 rule … most of the time…  (hey, a girl’s gotta live a little, right?).


So sister, is it time to draw a line in the sand and start looking after yourself for a change?


Because if you don’t, no one else will.
